Riccardi publishes opinion column on childhood brain injury in BDN
University of Maine assistant professor of communication sciences and disorders Jessica Riccardi co-published an opinion column in Bangor Daily News titled, “Better recognition of childhood brain injury in Maine needed.” The column is timed for Brain Injury Awareness Month, which is March, and states more than 3,000 children experience a brain injury in Maine each year. It calls for more attention and awareness to be placed on these injuries and overviews the importance of recognizing these injuries in children.
