PPH interviews Brewer, Glover about politicians supporting lobster industry in light of ‘red list’ designation
The Portland Press Herald interviewed Mark Brewer, professor of political science at the University of Maine, and Rob Glover, a UMaine associate professor of political science, about Maine politicians showing their support for the lobster industry after Seafood Watch put American lobster on its “red list” of seafood to be avoided because it claims the fishery poses a risk to the endangered North Atlantic right whale. “The lobster industry is seen as very important in Maine, and thus it is useful to candidates to be seen as supportive of lobstering.
