Blomberg discusses bats and white nose syndrome with BDN

Erik Blomberg spoke with the Bangor Daily News about white nose syndrome, a lethal disease among bats. “We are learning that even where white nose syndrome has been found and killed bats, there are some segments of the remaining bat population that better withstand the disease,” said Blomberg, chair of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation Biology at the University of Maine. “Those bats are surviving.”
