Morning Ag highlights forestry research awards to UMaine faculty
Morning Ag Clips reported that three University of Maine faculty in the School of Forest Resources have received grants from the Northeastern States Research Cooperative (NSRC) to support forestry related research. Daniel Hayes, the Barbara Wheatland Associate Professor of Geospatial Analysis and Remote Sensing, will develop a carbon budget for the forest sector of Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont; Laura Kenefic, a forest researcher and faculty associate, will develop a new silvicultural guide for the Northern conifer forest; and Angela Mech, an assistant professor of forest entomology, will develop a pheromone-based monitoring and control system for browntail moth.
