Ralph discusses plans for a 300-meter track with Press Herald

The Portland Press Herald spoke with Ken Ralph, University of Maine athletic director, about the inclusion of a 300-meter track in UMaine’s athletic facilities master plan. Significant upgrades to campus athletic facilities will be made with a $90 million gift from the Alfond Foundation and $20 million in privately raised funds. According to Ralph, a 300-meter indoor track, which will be the only one in the Northeast and one of just a few across the nation, will accommodate practices and meets in poor weather and community use. “It will take our program in a positive direction,” Ralph said.
