WABI (Channel 5) interviewed University of Maine history professor Liam Riordan about the historical context of the violence on Capitol Hill. Riordan says the chaos this week reminds him of the presidential race between Rutherford B. Hayes and Samuel Tilden in 1876, during which there were contested ballots from three southern states, and warnings from critics of the patriot movement.
