Kamath, De Urioste-Stone, Lichtenwalner moose parasite study featured in BDN
The Bangor Daily News reported on a collaborative research project, “Evaluating the Impacts of Winter Ticks and Tick-borne Disease on Moose Survival,” to be conducted by three University of Maine faculty. Pauline Kamath, assistant professor of animal health, Sandra De Urioste-Stone, associate professor of nature-based tourism, and Anne Lichtenwalner, director of the UMaine Cooperative Extension Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, will partner to evaluate the impact of parasites on moose health to develop a survival model that informs management practices.
