Singapore Symphony Orchestra percussionist, UMaine doctoral student to lecture Sept. 12
Jonathan Fox, the principal percussionist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2000 and a University of Maine iPh.D. student studying under UMaine School of Performing Arts professor Stuart Marrs, will give a public lecture on campus Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. in Minsky Recital Hall, “Living and Working Abroad: Challenges and Rewards.”
Fox teaches at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, and is an active concert and marching recitalist and clinician throughout North America and Asia, according to his biography on the Singapore Symphony Orchestra website.
He has performed with groups such as the New York Philharmonic and Mostly Mozart Orchestra, and has had a solo career. Fox holds degrees from Juilliard and Boston University.
