UMaine, partners awarded federal grant for wave energy converter, reNEWS reports

reNEWS reported that the University of Maine is a partner in a research team to create a wave energy converter that was one of five projects selected to receive $4.4 million from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office. The team, comprising Enorasy, Raytheon and Draper Labs, will build a 1:10 scale prototype of the converter, which will be tested at UMaine, according to the article.
