WABI advances #MeToo panel discussion
WABI (Channel 5) reported the University of Maine will host a #MeToo panel discussion from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Bangor Room of the Memorial Union. The discussion will continue the dialogue that started when the #MeToo campaign went viral to denounce sexual assault and harassment in the wake of allegations against Harvey Weinstein, WABI reported. The event, which is hosted by the Women’s, Gender and Sexual Studies Program, will feature experts related to legal, advocacy and research perspectives on campus, in Maine and across the country, according to the report. Organizers ask that attendees come prepared to learn, engage and ask questions.
