The Portland Press Herald carried an Associated Press story, quoting University of Maine political science professor Mark Brewer, on the Maine Democratic Party’s loss of millions of dollars in campaign donations from hedge fund manager and philanthropist S. Donald Sussman. “Any time you lose a donor of that magnitude, it’s a big deal, especially in a state such as Maine,” Brewer said.
