Talk to focus on public’s growing disapproval of American politics

Growing public disapproval of the American political establishment will be the focus of an Oct. 4 lecture by Ambassador Connie Morella and U.S. Rep. Mike Ross at the University of Maine.

The free public event, “Why is Congress So Unpopular? The American Public’s Growing Disapproval of the American Political Establishment” begins at 4 p.m. in 130 Little Hall, sponsored by the Cohen Institute for Leadership and Public Service. Morella served as ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development from 2003–07 and had a 16-year congressional career as a representative from Maryland. Ross served 12 years in Congress as a representative from Arkansas, and was the Democratic nominee for governor in 2014.
