Media cover St. Baldrick’s head-shaving fundraiser for cancer research

The group has held the event for the last six years on Maine Day to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, according to the BDN. This year, nearly $15,000 was raised at the event where 60 local students and residents shaved their heads, the article states. “It feels amazing to be bald,” UMaine student Amy Fortier-Brown told WABI. “I think everybody should try being bald, especially for a cause like this.”
