Ranco to participate in panel on Edward Curtis’ photographs, Press Herald reports
Darren Ranco, chair of Native American Programs and coordinator of Native American Research at the University of Maine, was mentioned in a Portland Press Herald article about the Portland Museum of Art exhibit, “Edward Curtis: Selections from the North American Indian.” Ranco, who also is an anthropology professor at UMaine, will participate in the panel discussion, “Exploring the Legacy of Edward Curtis’ Photographs,” at 4 p.m. May 6 at the museum, according to the article. The discussion will follow a gallery talk at noon by George Neptune, a Passamaquoddy basketmaker, the article states.
