New media installation to commemorate 70th anniversary of Hiroshima

Hiroshima, an audio/visual installation commemorating the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, will be open to the public Aug. 6-9, from noon to 7 p.m., at IMRC, Stewart Commons.

The installation will be presented by new media artists N.B. Aldrich and John Carney, a UMaine alumnus, in collaboration with artist Tomomi Adachi and Maine poet and musician Duane Ingalls. Hiroshima is based on John Hersey’s 1946 book of the same name, and will incorporate documentary film and bilingual composition.
