Bayer Comments on Lobster Prices
Robert Bayer, director of the University of Maine’s Lobster Institute, was interviewed for several news reports on lobsters, which are currently plentiful and inexpensive in Maine. The Manchester Union Leader published a story on Canadian imports of Maine lobsters and The Day of New London, Conn. carried an article, which also appeared in the Bangor Daily News, about the excess of soft-shell lobsters. Bayer said the abundance of soft-shell lobsters has driven the price down.
