Websites Note Engineer’s Contributions To Horse Racing Paper
Two websites included comments from a statement made by UMaine Libra Foundation Professor of Engineering Michael “Mick” Peterson on a white paper released this week about the current state of knowledge of horse training and racing surfaces. The Racing Surfaces White Paper, co-authored by Peterson, was noted by The Horse and Horsetalk. Also listed as an author is UMaine graduate student Christie Mahaffey, who according to Horsetalk is working on a comparison of clay mineralogy in more than 25 different racing surfaces.
