Barker Comments in WLBZ Story About Women in the Sciences
Sharon Barker, director of the Women’s Resource Center at UMaine, was interviewed Wednesday by Bangor television station WLBZ during the 25th annual Expanding Your Horizons Conference, which was held at UMaine. Barker said numbers of females in many scientific fields are flat or dropping. The event, which is designed to help girls gain a broader view of their futures, drew around 500 girls from nearly 30 schools across Maine.
