Hart Gives Keynote Address at HRA Annual Meeting
Mitchell Center Director David Hart gave the keynote address (“Building strong research partnerships between universities and diverse stakeholders”) at the annual meeting of the HIBAR Research Alliance (HRA) on May 3, 2022. HRA is an international network of research universities (e.g. UC Davis, Arizona State, U. Maryland, Oregon State, U. British Columbia) focused on using stakeholder-engaged, interdisciplinary research to solve society’s biggest problems.
Hart was also invited to speak earlier this year in a scientific session (“Evidence from Implementing Strategies for Aligning Research with Societal Needs”) organized by HRA leaders at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The AAAS session was inspired by a 2020 paper (“Rebuilding the Ivory Tower: Aligning Research with Societal Needs”) in Issues in Science and Technology by Hart and Linda Silka.
