Linda Silka presents to Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues conference
In an August 5 special session in celebration of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI)’s 85th anniversary, Linda Silka engaged virtual conference attendees in an interactive presentation entitled “SPSSI: Using Our Past and Looking to Our Future.”
During the session, Silka highlighted research published by SPSSI over the last several decades and asked how past research can inform future research “if we as psychologists and allied social scientists are to continue making a difference.”
Silka is a Mitchell Center senior fellow and a professor emerita at the School of Economics at UMaine. She began her tenure as SPSSI’s president on September 1, 2021.
