Estuary Builder Tool – Workshop Scheduled for April 4

The Watershed Process and Estuary Sustainability Research Group (WPES) at the University of Maine is pleased to announce an online training workshop to mark the release of the “Estuary Builder” spatial data tool for coastal Maine.

This interactive ArcGIS tool allows users to draw an outlet line across the mouth of any user-defined embayment or sub-embayment and returns data relating to land-sea connections influencing water quality and aquatic habitat conditions within the embayment, with a focus on the sources, delivery, and residence time of freshwater flows into tidal estuaries.

The workshop will be held from 12:30 – 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.  For more information and to register by March 17, visit umaine.edu/watershedresearch/estuary builder. Please contact Bea Van Dam (bea.vandam@maine.edu) or Sean Smith (sean.m.smith@maine.edu) if you have questions regarding registration or the workshop.
