Function Based Problem-Solving; Practical Strategies to Address Behavior in the Classroom
Speaker: Gretchen Scheibel, MS, OTTR/L, BCBA
Session Description
In this one-hour webinar, Gretchen Scheibel discusses Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and how to incorporate Function-based problem solving using the FBA framework. The FBA framework includes evaluating the reason for problem behavior and helps to identify the skills the student needs to succeed. This webinar will provide a problem-solving framework for addressing minor or low-level challenging behaviors based on the FBA process. This process is ideal for teachers who need to quickly address small challenging behaviors when a formal FBA process isn’t necessary or as a preliminary step before an FBA is completed. Teachers will learn how to describe a behavior, investigate what causes it, and create a plan to address it. [Earn 2 Contact Hours upon completion.]
