For people with ASDs, depression is common, and has particular features and causes. This webinar will explain and describe depression, the forms it can take, and how it looks and feels for a person on the autism spectrum. The webinar will help to increase self-awareness, including identifying personal triggers, and provide the tools to combat depression.
This “Coffee with Cathy” workshop is offered by the Autism Society of Maine (ASM) and will be facilitated by Cathy Dionne, Director of ASM.
Professor Tony Attwood Ph.D. is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist, educator, and author.
Recently featured on ABC’s Australian Story, Tony is one of the world’s foremost authorities on autism. His book
Asperger’s Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals is an international bestseller and seminal in the field.
Dr Michelle Garnett Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who has specialized in autism within her own private
practice for over 27 years. Her peer reviewed research has informed understanding of early detection, the female
profile and the importance of good mental health for autistic individuals. She has co-authored six highly regarded
books on autism, five with Prof Tony Attwood.
