CLAS Honors Recipients of James S. Stevens Outstanding Junior Award
The College of Liberal Arts honors the hard work and dedication of its rising seniors each year with the James S. Stevens Outstanding Junior Award. Named for James Stevens, a professor of physics and the first dean of the UMaine College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (then named the College of Arts and Sciences), the Stevens Award goes to those students with a declared major in CLAS at the time of review, junior status (minimum 54 credit hours earned) and a minimum of three semesters at the University of Maine, who have attained a 3.85 or better GPA at the end of the fall semester.
