CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. Effective May 1, 2020, face masks are required in such public settings in Maine.
The following Maine manufacturers and businesses are producing cloth face coverings. The lists are broken down by retail vs. wholesale availability. Cloth face coverings are not intended or approved for use by health care professionals or in a health care facility or environment and have not been evaluated by the FDA or or OSHA.
