The Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC) will offer a rare and exciting tour of their 100,000 ft facility.
The ASCC facility has been recognized nationally and internationally for cutting-edge research programs, and for leading and impacting new industries including offshore wind and marine energy, civil infrastructure, large-scale 3D printing, soldier protection systems, and innovative defense-related applications.
In 2019, the Center was awarded three Guinness World Records. The tour will feature the record-winning world’s largest polymer 3D printer and the world’s largest 3D printed boat, as well as student research across a variety of areas.
Participants will witness the Alfond W2 Ocean Engineering Laboratory, where the Center is pursuing novel research in floating offshore wind and marine energy technologies.
One-hour tours are available at 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30 pm.
