The Office of Research Development Professional Development Series provides a networking and educational experience for researchers (faculty, staff, and students) across UMS. Our aim is to raise awareness about external funders and funding opportunities, by showcasing awardees who have successfully navigated the process of securing external grants to support their scholarly pursuits.
About the presenters
“Supporting Maine’s 4-H Camp and Learning Centers” (Foundation and Federal funders)
Ryder Scott, Statewide Director; University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Centers
For over 50 years the University of Maine 4-H Camps & Learning Centers have strengthened children’s connections to the natural world through a combination of camps and school programs statewide. These programs are designed to inspire outdoor fun, practical woods-wise skills, and “hands-on” conservation education. Through these connections, we feel that we are making a positive impact in youth development by creating a deepening respect for our natural resources.
“Advancing Learning, Leadership and Equity in Maine and Wabanaki Wild Shellfisheries”
(Maine Community Foundation)
Bridie McGreavy, University of Maine Associate Professor of Communication and Journalism
