Katt’s national cross-sectional survey data from 400 young adults found that subjective social status and coping styles may function as intermediate factors contributing to rural disparities in hazardous cannabis use. Current findings may inform intervention targets and clinical recommendations tailored to the unique experiences of young adults living in rural environments.
Leah’s cross-sectional online survey data from 332 UMaine undergraduates found that, although LGBTQIA+ and cis-heterosexual college students reported similar cannabis use behavior, lifetime traumatic experiences emerged as a novel risk factor for LGBTQIA+ students. Current findings may inform the identification of at-risk LGBTQIA+ young adults and inform tailored intervention to mitigate disparate cannabis risk.
