Congrats Katt on being named the 2024-2025 Graduate Communications Fellow for the Scholars Strategy Network (SSN), Maine Chapter!

SSN is a national organization that connects journalists, policymakers, and civic leaders with America’s top researchers to improve policy and strengthen democracy. This competitive position involves helping coordinate chapter activities (e.g., visiting scholars, political engagement) and relationships with media, lawmakers, journalists, and civic organizations.
We are looking forward to following Katt’s work with SSN and keeping an eye out for future Op-Eds!

The chapter’s policy fellows visited the Maine State House on March 29, They met with partisan and non-partisan staffers, lawmakers, policy advocates, and even Governor Mills. The goal was to learn more about the ways that scholars can inform the state policy process through timely and strategic engagement with lawmakers, advocates, and policy coalitions.
