The west side of campus experienced a power outage overnight. At this time, power has been restored to all buildings except Deering Hall. Deering Hall is closed today and classes in the building are canceled due to the power outage.

As repairs continue on UMaine’s power system, ongoing energy conservation efforts are required campuswide.

We ask that you help us minimize electrical expenditure this week by turning off lights, equipment and devices when not in use. While we fully understand that some individuals and facilities will not be able to reduce electrical consumption, we do ask that you unplug or turn off unused and nonessential electrical loads where practicable.
