Presenter Biography

Carl Hooker has spent the past 25+ years in education as a teacher and administrator focused on the thoughtful integration of technology. He consults for multiple districts across the country and is a frequent speaker at state and national events. He’s a 8-time author, works with multiple Ed Tech companies and is National Faculty Emeritus at Future Ready Schools. He is also the co- founder of K12Leaders.com, a social community built by educators, for educators. His latest book, Learning Evolution, discusses the changes that education will need to make to survive in an AI-enhanced world.

Plenary Description

The rapid rise of generative AI will have a dramatic impact on how we teach and learn. “AI enhanced” learning means gone are the days of focusing on a single product to measure student growth. Responsible and ethical use of AI in education should be a primary focus of schools going forward from grades K-20. In this interactive keynote, we’ll discuss the ethical ramifications of AI and look at examples of how using AI in the classroom can actually encourage deeper learning and understanding. After all, learning is more about the process than the product.
