Edge Venuti, EES Student Ambassador
Concentration: I’m currently in the process of making my own which will look something like Sustainability and Climate Justice within Human Ecosystems
Why did you choose UMaine and the EES program: I chose UMaine because of all the scientific opportunities it has within and surrounding the EES program.
Best hands on experience and why: I’m looking forward to the EES 217 Research Field course to spend some time in beautiful Acadia learning more about those ecosystems.
Favorite class at UMaine and why: I’m really enjoying WLE 200 right now which is basic Ecology. The class connects all of the human intricacies with how we interact with the world and I just think it’s really cool.
Wisdom for incoming students: Go with the flow! Try different classes, opportunities all of it and see where it goes! EES is so broad for a reason, you can really find your perfect niche so don’t worry it will come to you with time!
