General Ecosystems Ecology Concentration
I chose the Umaine EES program because of my love for the outdoors, drive to learn about the natural world surrounding me, and passion for environmentalism.
My best hands on experience would be the research assistant position that I have, which allows me to learn about ecology and fisheries through lab and field experience.
My favorite class at Umaine, so far, would be Field Natural History of Maine, because of the outdoor experience lab to prepare us all for our future careers in environmental science, as well as a large project that we get to manage ourselves and take charge of what we want to learn.
I would tell incoming students to make the most out of your learning, because you are paying for it, so you might as well learn some things and try to have fun.
