Audrey Cross, B.S. 2016
Audrey Cross, a recent graduate of the UMaine Ecology and Environmental Sciences Program, is bringing a fresh perspective to the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. As the Coordinator for the Maine Food and Agriculture Center, Audrey is working on a web-based system to make it easy to discover and learn about the services and expertise the University of Maine System has to support the Maine food system– from farmers to aquaculturists to food entrepreneurs and more. Audrey works with over 80 members of the Center, who are UMaine employees that do research and extension work to support the Maine food system. In June, Audrey’s position expanded to full-time. Her responsibilities now include marketing all programs of UMaine Cooperative Extension, including agriculture, food safety, human nutrition, home gardening, 4-H youth development and 4-H camps.
In addition to working for UMaine Cooperative Extension, Audrey is the Coordinator of the Bangor Area Food Council, a Master Gardener Volunteer in Penobscot County, the Newsletter & New Media Coordinator for the Orono Farmers’ Market, a garden volunteer at Terrell House Permaculture Living & Learning Center, and a member of the Steering Committee of the New England Farm and Sea to Campus Network.
