Meredith Eaton

Meredith Eaton is the Coordinator of Tutoring Services in the Office of Student Academic Success. In collaboration with Associate Director Mary Beth Willett, Meredith oversees the daily operations of the program.

Meredith joined College Success Programs and the Office of Student Academic Success over the summer of 2022. Prior to that, she spent eight years as Program Manager with Literacy Volunteers of Bangor, where she trained and supervised hundreds of tutors helping area adults improve reading, writing, and English-language skills.

As a UMaine student, Meredith tutored at the Writing Center five semesters, an experience that proved hugely influential in her future professional pursuits. After two years with AmeriCorps*VISTA, she used the Education Award she’d earned through that service to return to UMaine, graduating with a Bachelor of University Studies in 2010.

When Meredith isn’t at work, she’s often found reading (favorite genres include memoir and long-form journalism), tending to projects around her home and garden, or exploring Maine’s riverbanks and coastlines in search of flotsam and jetsam of a bygone time. Meredith resides in Bangor with her spouse, dog Luna and cat Lemon.
