Grahm Freme
Associate in Applied Science Degree Program; Computer-Aided Drafting Technology, Northern Maine Community College, 2015
Bachelor of Science Degree Program; Construction Engineering Technology, University of Maine, 2018
After completing his degree in CET, Grahm traveled with Cianbro working on projects from Maine to NY. As a project engineer, Grahm worked on a general contracting team constructing commercial buildings. His largest project was a $215 million contract with the GSA to build a border station in Northern NY. Much of this experience has led Grahm to teach specific courses helping students understand construction management in today’s world.
Grahm has also worked in earthwork construction for Soderberg Construction out of Caribou, ME. Grahm credits his experience with Soderberg as a great baseline for his career. He worked as a structural drafter for TEC Associates in South Portland, ME, and as a surveyor/drafter for Down to Earth PLS out of Bradley, ME.
Grahm began teaching at the University of Maine in the Spring of 2022. He was invited to educate students on current technologies used in construction, commercial building construction practices, and software for building construction. His courses include statics and strengths of materials, virtual design and construction, preconstruction services, fundamentals of engineering prep, structural design, capstone, building science and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
Grahm now spends his summers working for himself as a small contractor, providing construction guidance to homeowners and educating the State of Maine on topics such as Building Science. He also provides consulting support for general contractors in estimating and construction management.
