Began Conservation Science NRT Program Fall 2022
I chose UMaine because of the wonderful opportunities related to forestry, and I was drawn to the NRT program because of the professional development opportunities. I hope to work in conservation advocacy and bridge the gap between science and real world implications, including management, policy, and education, and I fully believe this experience will prepare me for that!
I received a BS in Wildlife Ecology and Management from Auburn University. I am interested in incorporating both ecological and economic perspectives into policy objectives, both on local and state/federal levels. My current research will look at eastern spruce budworm outbreaks and use remote sensing and the value of information to look at how the state of Maine can equip landowners with the best management tools.
