SIE 550 Design of Information Systems
Modeling and abstraction techniques for designing, sharing and implementing information systems. Includes models of the functionality, architecture and the information stored in an information system. Introduces procedural and declarative paradigms to represent and process data information and knowledge. Covers conceptual modeling using entity-relationship models, UML models, query languages (SQL), logic and formal languages.
Prerequisites: SIE 507 or other basic programming experience.
