Faculty Assistants

Faculty assistants will be stationed at the New Balance Field House in the Academic Advising Center and will be responsible for assisting faculty members with regalia and lined up in proper order for the processional. They will march with faculty members to the Alfond Arena. Upon arrival at the Alfond Arena, Faculty Assistants will transition to Floor Monitors.

Floor Monitors

Floor Monitors assist on the floor of the arena by guiding students and faculty to and from seating and stage and prevent family and friends from entering the arena floor. Some floor monitors may be tasked with assisting Faculty Marshals with guiding students back to their rows after crossing the stage.

Program Distributors

Program distributors will be stationed at each entrance to the arena and greet guests while passing out programs. During the ceremony, Program Distributors will assist as ushers.

Ticket Scanners

All Commencement guests for the Saturday ceremonies require a ticket to enter the Alfond Arena. Tickets are not required for the Friday ceremony. The Ticket scanners will be stationed at each of the entrances to the Alfond Arena, where their main tasks are to greet guests, scan tickets, and direct any students participating in Commencement to the New Balance Fieldhouse.

Ushers

Ushers will be stationed in each of the seating sections of the Alfond Arena and will be responsible for guiding guests to their seats, providing directions to restrooms and concessions, keeping aisles clear, and preventing guests from moving to the arena floor at any time.

Skybox Staff

Skybox Staff are responsible for checking in all skybox ticket holders, escorting them to the assigned skybox, and monitoring the access stairwells to the upper skybox area.

Special Accommodations Support Team

Special Accommodations Support Team members will assist in welcoming guests requiring assistance. This will include greeting guests at the Special Accommodations entrance, checking tickets, and ushering guests to the appropriate section on the arena floor. Special Accommodations Support Team members transition to floor monitors and ushers once all guests are seated.

Student Assistants

Student Assistants will first be stationed in the New Balance Field House and will be responsible for ensuring that students are properly dressed in regalia, have their blue reader cards, and are in the appropriate line. Student Assistants will then march to the Alfond Arena with students, ensuring that students remain in the appropriate line. Upon arrival to the Arena, Student Assistants will assist Floor Monitors.

Shuttle Assistants

Shuttle Assistants will ride on the buses, greet guests, advise on no bags or strollers policy, and provide general assistance. Buses will only be provided for the Saturday ceremonies. Once the buses have stopped transporting, shuttle assistants transition to inside Alfond Arena to assist ushers.

Greeters

Greeters will be stationed outside Alfond Arena prior to the ceremony start and are responsible for keeping the flow of the lines moving, assisting guests with questions, and directing to the appropriate entrance. Once all guests have entered, ushers will assist ushers and floor monitors.
