About the speaker: Dr. Du holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Toronto and completed postdoctoral training in developmental biology and genetics at the University of Washington. He began his academic career in 1997 at the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute and became an Associate Professor in 2003. In 2010, Dr. Du joined the University of Maryland Baltimore and now serves as a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
