COBRE Retreat October 12-14, 2023
Clarissa Henry, Director, Center of Biomedical Research Excellence: Extracellular impacts on cellular behavior and all five COBRE project leaders attended the first annual retreat on October 12-14, 2023 at MDIBL in Bar Harbor, ME.
Also in attendance at the retreat, mentors, members of the Steering Committee and External Advisory Committee asked many questions after in depth project presentations and two pilot projects presentations. Discussions also included feedback on plans for facilities at the University of Maine, ranging from Zebrafish facility upgrades to the microscopy core. Thank you so much to the advisory groups and mentors who traveled to MDI, absorbed the details of each project and took the time to craft detailed feedback for the future of the grant. The in person event was also a wonderful opportunity for the UMaine project leaders to have conversations with faculty from institutions with established COBRE grants and learn from them.
