Canadian-American Center Funding Requests
Who is eligible to receive Center funding?
The CanAm Center is a Department of Education funded National Resource Center on Canada. University of Maine faculty, staff, and students may apply for funding for the following purposes:
- Research: typically must relate to research on or in Canada or Canada-US relations
- Travel: typically must be travel to Canada or to events related to Canada-US relations
- Events: have an idea for bringing a guest to UMaine? We sponsor many events such as guest lectures, workshops, conferences, and more
How to apply for funding:

- Submit an application for Canadian-American Center DOE NRC Funding
- If travelling internationally, applicants must also submit an application for funding for International Travel. This form MUST be submitted at least 40 days prior to intended travel
- Upon submitting one or both applications, please send an email to um.canam@maine.edu to confirm the submission
Once your application(s) have been received and reviewed, staff from the CanAm Center will let you know of approval, or if any other information is required.
