Miranda Jacques
Miranda is a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Maine with a newly developed interest in programming. Her logic is that programming is like one big puzzle, and she enjoys spending long hours at a computer trying to make something extraordinary. At the University, Miranda is also a teaching assistant in multiple disciplines, and a research assistant for Dr. Brichacek’s lab where she was recently awarded a CUGR fellowship for her research. Outside of class, she spends countless hours on the internet trying to learn how things work and has used this ambition to teach herself multiple programming languages, including Python and C/C++. With her love for learning and an aptitude for programming, Miranda is strongly suited for device troubleshooting and ensuring medical data is presented in a way the end-user can understand.
As the team’s communicator, Miranda is responsible for making sure everyone involved with H.A.L.O. is on the same page. She helps the team to coordinate with the advisor and client, as well as outside members including but not limited to; university staff, real-world pilots, and other aviation personnel. She is also the person who keeps everyone up to date on group deadlines and meeting minutes to ensure the team works efficiently and achieves their goal of making a marketable product. Along with communication, Miranda has a creative side which has helped the group develop schematic drawings and eye-catching graphics for team presentations.
