Assistant Professor of Military Science
Captain Dallas J. Meachum
Captain (CPT) Dallas Meachum is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds an undergraduate degree from Liberty University (2011) and a graduate degree from American Military University (2020). He enlisted in the North Carolina National Guard in 2012 and graduated from basic combat training at Ft Benning, Georgia. He commissioned through the Officer Candidate School (OCS) as a Transportation Officer.
As a Citizen-Soldier, CPT Meachum served as a business manager in Raleigh, North Carolina. He served as Heavy Equipment Truck Platoon Leader in the 1452nd Combat HET Company, 630th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 113th Sustainment Brigade. In January 2015, he completed the Basic Officer’s Leaders Course at Ft. Lee, Virginia. In May 2015, CPT Meachum deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
In April 2016, CPT Meachum served as Executive Officer for the 1450th Composite Truck Company , 630th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 113th Sustainment Brigade. In this role, he deployed to the National Training Center (Rotation 16-07) and later attended Reserve Officer Captain’s Career Course at Ft. Lee, Virginia. From October 2016 until September 2017, CPT Meachum served as a Transportation Officer for First Army Headquarters, G4, at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.
In September 2017, CPT Meachum transitioned from the National Guard to Active Duty in the Call to Active Duty Program. He served as an Executive Officer for the Forward Support Company (2-3 Field Artillery), 501st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Ft. Bliss, Texas. He deployed again to the National Training Center (Rotation 19-01). He was then assigned as Assistant Brigade S4 for the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Ft. Bliss, Texas. In September 2019, CPT Meachum was assigned to the 10th Transportation Battalion (Terminal), 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) where he served as Assistant Battalion S3. CPT Meachum served as commanding officer for the 558th Transportation Company from March 2020 until June 2021. In July 2021, CPT Meachum moved to Maine to become the Assistant Professor of Military Science.
His awards include: Army Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (Three), Army Achievement Medal (Two), the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with Mobilization, and the National Defense Medal.
CPT Meachum lives in Orono, with his wife, Chelsey, and their daughter, Leah.
