Have students…
- Describe regions of Canada. West (British Columbia), Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba), Central (Ontario, Quebec), East (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland & Labrador), North (Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut)
- Look at the pictures and discuss with their partner the kinds of Canadian jobs they see pictured.
- Group the job pictures by region. Have them list at least two jobs or industries for each region.
Materials:
- Images of industries, jobs and people working, labeled with Province or Territory name.
- Tourism brochures – order from these web sites: Provincial Tourism Bureaus
- Canadian magazines – for example, Canadian Geographic Magazine
