Bayer quoted in reports on rare orange lobster
Robert Bayer, executive director of the Lobster Institute at the University of Maine, was quoted in a Portland Press Herald report about a Windham lobsterman who caught a bright orange crustacean in the Gulf of Maine. Bayer said the odds of catching an orange lobster are one in several million. In 1997, the same lobsterman caught a rare white, or albino, lobster, according to the article.
