Joe Kelley, a marine geologist in UMaine’s School of Earth and Climate Sciences, was interviewed for a Portland Daily Sun report about how Hurricane Sandy might impact Maine’s coastal areas. Kelley said the bizarre and unusual storm will be bad on the coast because a full moon means substantially bigger tides.
