UMaine Wind Research in AP Report

An Associated Press article about a forthcoming report on what needs to be done to make offshore wind power in Maine a reality notes that the University of Maine leads a consortium of nonprofits, utilities and businesses planning floating wind turbines that will generate 5 gigawatts of power by 2030. The report, “The Turning Point for Atlantic Offshore Wind Energy,” to be released Thursday by the National Wildlife Federation, Environment and others, identifies challenges and opportunities for offshore wind power development. Channels 2 (WLBZ) and 5 (WABI) also carried the AP report.
