Marine Biologist Comments in Wired Science Article

An article on the Wired Science website about the ecological value of giant blue whale feces included comments from University of Maine marine biologist Andrew Pershing, who said scientists want to understand how large whale populations might alter ecosystems. The article explains that whale scat can distribute nitrogen and fertilize the ocean, which can result in more plankton, more fish and more whales.
