Channel 7 (WVII) interviewed a group of students who shared success stories they said were made possible by UMaine’s Upward Bound, a federally funded program that helps students transition from high school to college. Funding has been cut drastically for the program nationwide, but U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud of Maine said Wednesday the program is important and “too valuable” to let go.
